Aug 2008 | Altus Group selects ICRON to optimize largest Floating Transhipment Facility
Altus Group is a leading provider of innovative integrated shipping and logistics solutions in the Asia Pacific region for industrial, mining, commercial and oil & gas sector customers. Altus has chosen ICRON APS to model and optimize simulations for one of the largest iron ore integrated transhipment facility, located in Australia. ICRON APS was used to optimise all simulations including the loading of barges, transport and unloading at a dedicated transhipment facility and, the loading of ocean going bulk carriers.
Commenting on the project, Altus Shipping MD, Johanes Chandra said "We were very pleased with the speed ICRON was able to model the problem, identify critical features and deliver fully optimised solutions. This allows us to analyse and optimise the transhipment capacity not achievable by manual analysis."
James Ashworth, CEO ICRON Technologies Singapore, said "We were very pleased to work with Altus and on the interesting planning challenge presented."
