The project will be conducted by subdividing the project into phases.

The phased approach will provide a high degree of control and project visibility with each phase completed before the next one commences. At the end of each phase, the project plans are reviewed, if required, planning changes are made to the next phase and the overall project in a controlled manner.
Phased Approach
The Project Phases for the ICRON Implementation will be as follows:
Phase 0 – Business Requirements Definition
The initial business practices and key performance indicators are documented and the business objectives for the project are then set.
These key performance indicators are recorded at the outset of the project and form the Business Measurement Baseline (BPMB). At completion of the project, the same key performance indicators will be measured to determine the improvement over the baseline.
Phase 1 – Establishment and Planning
The Project Director is appointed and the core project team established. Other key resources, facilities, strategies and plans for delivering the project are put in place.
Phase 2 – Prototype
The proposed ICRON solution together with existing and new business processes are tested in a prototype environment to determine its visibility and performance. Issues needing attention are identified, changes in business practices are addressed.
Phase 3 – System Preparation
The system is prepared for the implementation of ICRON. Business processes are reviewed, verified and documented; data conversions are completed.
All activities for the final implementation are documented in the Cutover Plan.
Training of the Key Users is carried out in readiness for the Conference Room Pilot.
Phase 4 – Conference Room Pilot
The final system is tested and verified by the Key and End Users to ensure that all aspects of the business operations have been adequately addressed. Formal acceptance by the Key and End Users ensures functional acceptance of the system to be implemented.
The system is stress tested to ensure that it will provide satisfactory performance and response times.
The Staged Implementation Strategy is reviewed.
Phase 5 – Implementation
The End Users are trained in the new business processes and in ICRON in preparation for the new system going live.
A final readiness review is conducted with senior management and formal approval granted before going live.
Phase 6 – Project Closure
A formal post implementation review is carried out to determine whether the business objectives set in the Business Performance Measurement Baseline (BPMB) have been achieved.
The project implementation performance is also reviewed against the Project .
The final project report is written, the core project team redeployed and the project closed.
Phase 7 – Support
Ongoing support for the new users is provided as per the System Support Plan.
