ICRON, a leading provider of Optimized Decision Making and Supply Chain Optimization software solutions, today announced that it has signed a new agreement with long-term customer Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayi A.Ş., a top global manufacturer of high carbon wire and steel wire rope, which will see the two companies expanding their existing business relationship. Under the new agreement, ICRON will provide an end-to-end, automated production planning solution for Çelik Halat that will enable Capacity Planning, Detailed Scheduling, Re-Engineering of the existing Configurator, and Data Collection from the shop floor.
This new project with Çelik Halat – which has been a customer of ICRON for nearly 20 years – aims to address the capacity planning, data collection, and detailed scheduling challenges that the manufacturer is currently facing with the implementation of two ICRON solutions: Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) and Capacity Planning (CP).
With this new solution, Çelik Halat will be able to:
- ensure on-time delivery by improving its order tracking process and dynamically managing order due dates. Also, they will be capable of providing complete supply chain visibility for all stakeholders including its marketing, sales, manufacturing, and purchasing departments, enabling them to make better shipping and stock decisions and achieve optimal production levels.
- generate optimal plans and improve capacity management by taking production constraints – including demand forecasts, budget, orders, and stock levels – into account, will also be able to improve the management of raw materials and inventory at both the operational and tactical levels. With the help of the new solutions Çelik Halat will have the capacity to conduct “what-if” analysis to evaluate various scenarios, foresee disruptions and bottlenecks, and determine the best production plans.

Being a leader in its sector, Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayi A.Ş. was established in 1962 to supply high carbon wire and steel wire rope need of our country and started production in 1968. It went public in 1986, and in 1997, a majority of the company’s shares was owned by the Dogan Group. After that, Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayi A.Ş. entered into a high-growth period. Today, our products are produced in compliance with international standards and many of them are exported all over the world. Our initial yearly production capacity was 4,500 tons and we started production with steel wire ropes, galvanized wire and spring wires. Subsequently, bead wire and pre-stressed concrete strand were added into out product portfolio. We expect our growth trend to continue in coming years with numerous new investments on the horizon.
Our steel wire rope that has an exclusive place in our product range (the company is named after it) has deservedly gained specialty of a reliable brand sought for years not only in domestic market but also abroad for its high quality and performance. As a consequence of this, all our ropes are produced with a red strand (all ropes in domestic market) in order to be easily differentiated by our customers, and as an additional guarantee, an identification green colored tape is placed in the ropes. Apart from that, all our ropes are awarded by a certified quality certificate.
Our products are exported to more than 40 countries including the USA, Canada, Holland, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Italy and other European Countries, as well as Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and other Turkic Republics.
