ICRON, a leading provider of Optimized Decision Making and Supply Chain Optimization software solutions, today announced the go-live of its enhanced and expanded board production planning solution at Vestel, one of Europe’s manufacturing giants that specializes in producing consumer electronics, mobile technologies, displays and LED lighting, and household and professional appliances.
The deployment of the newly upgraded solution for board production planning at Vestel – which has been an ICRON customer since 1999, and has been using ICRON’s Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Production Planning (for its assembly, plastic, metal, and board lines) and Order Promising solutions for many years – has enabled the manufacturing company to integrate and optimize its surface mount device (SMD) lines production planning and reduce its planning cycle time by 85%.
With the newly upgraded version of the board production planning solution – which Vestel has been using since 2010 – planners can simultaneously plan their SMD lines (main board, power, and module) production processes for televisions and visual solutions products in a single, integrated planning environment.
The new solution also gives Vestel the capability to:
- Automatically create production plans that streamline, synchronize, and optimize its board production operations.
- Reduce the duration of planning cycles by 85%.
- Monitor stock levels, customer orders, capacity requirements, and critical component supply levels in real time and dynamically revise board production plans to take into account changing supply chain conditions and constraints.
- Automatically update board production orders in the company’s ERP and MES systems.
- Minimize setup times and maximize on time, in full (OTIF) delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
