Vestel optimizes board production planning, decreases planning cycle time by 85% with ICRON
Istanbul, 28 November 2018 – ICRON, a leading provider of Optimized Decision Making and Supply Chain Optimization software solutions, today announced the go-live of its enhanced and expanded board production planning solution at Vestel, one of Europe’s manufacturing giants that specializes in producing consumer electronics, mobile technologies, displays and LED lighting, and household and professional appliances.
The deployment of the newly upgraded solution for board production planning at Vestel – which has been an ICRON customer since 1999, and has been using ICRON’s Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Production Planning (for its assembly, plastic, metal, and board lines) and Order Promising solutions for many years – has enabled the manufacturing company to integrate and optimize its surface mount device (SMD) lines production planning and reduce its planning cycle time by 85%.
With the newly upgraded version of the board production planning solution – which Vestel has been using since 2010 – planners can simultaneously plan their SMD lines (main board, power, and module) production processes for televisions and visual solutions products in a single, integrated planning environment.
The new solution also gives Vestel the capability to:
- Automatically create production plans that streamline, synchronize, and optimize its board production operations.
- Reduce the duration of planning cycles by 85%.
- Monitor stock levels, customer orders, capacity requirements, and critical component supply levels in real time and dynamically revise board production plans to take into account changing supply chain conditions and constraints.
- Automatically update board production orders in the company’s ERP and MES systems.
- Minimize setup times and maximize on time, in full (OTIF) delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
Barış Selçuk, ICRON’s Operations Director for Europe, commented: “ We are thrilled to announce the successful deployment of our new and improved board production planning solution at Vestel – one of ICRON’s most loyal, long-term customers with a business relationship stretching back nearly 20 years. This new solution empowers Vestel’s board production planners to automatically generate integrated, optimized production plans and make optimized decisions to dramatically decrease setup and planning cycle times and increase efficiency and OTIF performance.” “The go-live of this new board production planning solution marks yet another major milestone and an expansion of our two-decade collaboration with Vestel, which utilizes numerous ICRON solutions to optimize its end-to-end supply chain planning and decision making,” Selçuk added.
Serdar Evlatoğlu, Vestel’s Production Planning Manager, remarked: “ With the go-live this enhanced production planning solution, we are now able to synchronize and optimize our board production planning and decision making. We have also gained complete, real-time visibility over supply and demand conditions and constraints as well as levels of inventory and critical component parts.”
“ ICRON has once again proven that its solutions have the power and flexibility to provide a perfect fit for our planning and scheduling needs,” Evlatoğlu added, “ We have been using ICRON’s solutions for many years, and I’m certain that we will continue to use them in the years to come. With ICRON, we can cope with the complexity and volatility of our supply chain, and achieve better productivity and performance for our customers and profitability for our shareholders.”
